SANDWICH – There was a dramatic scene at the east end of the Cape Cod Canal early Saturday morning. Around 2:45 AM, as brisk winds blew in the first hint of fall, a vessel apparently dragged anchor and ended up on the rocks near the Sandwich Town Boardwalk by the east entrance to the Cape Cod Canal. Sandwich Police and Fire along with the Coast Guard had a difficult time reaching the scene. Police were able to reach the scene and determine that two people were on board had luckily escaped injury. Further details were not immediately available.
