DENNIS – From Dennis Police: Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:47 PM, someone walking on Chapin Beach in Dennis discovered what appeared to be an unexploded ordinance shell and reported the find to the Dennis Police Department. Officers secured the item at the beach and notified the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad. Once on scene the MSP Bomb Squad made the decision to explode the item in place, which was done. The scene at Chapin Beach is now clear.
