WELLFLEET – Wellfleet Police report that on Saturday at approximately 10:55 AM, they received a call about a possible fire from the wooded area by Newcomb Hollow Beach, off Ocean View Drive. Wellfleet Police & Fire along with the National Park Service responded. They discovered the burnt remains of an unoccupied house belonging to the National Park.
NPS Rangers checked other properties in the area and located the burnt remains of another unoccupied house.
This is an active investigation by the State Fire Marshall Office, NPS, Wellfleet Police and Fire Departments. Anyone with information or if you see something suspicious are urged to call the Wellfleet Police Department at 508-349-3702.
