BARNSTABLE – The State Fire Marshal’s Office reports that the fire at 9:30 Friday night at 164 Millway in Barnstable has resulted in a single fatality. A man was rescued from the fire by the Barnstable Fire Department but later succumbed to his injuries at Cape Cod Hospital. The fire is being jointly investigated by the Barnstable Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to both the Office of the State Fire Marshal and to the Cape and Islands District Attorneys Office. The fire remains under investigation but does not appear suspicious.
