Video: Harwich, Yarmouth Police and Fire go “Homeless for the Holidays”

HARWICH
– “Homeless for the Holidays,” members of the Harwich police and fire departments will be camping out in Brooks Park to raise awareness for the less fortunate in the community. They will be collecting non- perishable food for The Family Pantry of Cape Cod and “Toys for Tots.”  As of Thursday over $1,000 in cash donations had been collected for the Family Pantry. Various items have been donated by businesses in the town.  The program will end with Santa arriving Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on a fire truck.

YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Fire Department is currently conducting its annual  Homeless for the Holidays drive from December 9 – December 13.

Homeless for the Holidays will shine a bright light on the plight of homeless families and children in the area.

Volunteer firefighters are currently camping out and collecting items for :

Toys for Tots   (unwrapped, brand new toys)

Yarmouth Food Pantry (non-perishable food items)

Katelynn’s Closet (new children’s clothing or cash or check donations)

MSPCA Angell Kindness and Kare for Animals (non-perishable food and items for rescued animals)

Please stop in and say hello to the firefighters and drop off an item anytime 24/7 at the Our Lady of the Highway church located at 1044 Route 28 in South Yarmouth from now until this Sunday at 3 p.m.
