VIDEO: Ordnance found in Harwich

HARWICH
– An employee of the Big Rock Oyster Company on Depot Street in Harwich found a device that looked like a bomb on the property. Harwich Police Sergeant Aram Goshgarian arrived on scene and determined the best people to handle the situation was the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad. Trooper Stephen Sicard Jr., a hazardous device technician, was able to x-ray the item and a digital view determined it was a Mark 23 World War 2 practice bomb a solid hunk of metal and thus harmless. Trooper Sicard Jr. said as a precaution the right call was made bringing him from off Cape to check the device.
