Wareham DNR responds to sunken boat

ONSET
– On Thursday, crews from the Wareham Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), Onset Fire Rescue, and TowBoatUS Cape Cod/Plymouth responded to a vessel that sunk at a mooring in the vicinity of Onset Island. The vessel was using someone else’s mooring so locating the actual owner took additional time.

Due to the vessel being submerged and a concern of the vessel leaking fuel OFD dispatched their MASS-DEP Hazardous Materials Spill trailer to the scene. MASS DEP Spill Response team and USCG were both notified of the situation.

The vessel was raised by TowBoat US Cape Cod without incident and removed from the water.
