Wareham Police activity report for Saturday

WAREHAM – On Friday, July 6, at about 12:30 am, Officer Christopher Corner and Officer James White arrested Gordon Howell, 40, of Medford (top right), on two outstanding warrants.

The arrest was made following a car stop on Depot Street.

Later at about 1:40 pm officers were dispatched to the area of Main Street in the center area for a hit and run motor vehicle accident. It was reported that one car struck another and continued on toward Gibbs Avenue. Moments later Sgt. Walter Correia found the suspect vehicle against the curb in the opposite lane near 532 Main Street. After investigation the operator, Douglas Alves, 64, of Onset, was transported to Tobey Hospital for evaluation, and is being summoned for, operating under the influence of drugs, 4th offense, operating to endanger, and marked lanes violation.

Also on Friday, at about 9:50 pm, Officer Joseph Cardoza and Special Officer Eric Kanavos arrested Michael Murnaghan,39, of Dennis Port (middle right), in the area of 194 Main Street, because of an outstanding warrant.


On Saturday, July 7, at 6:30 am, Officers Corner and Ryan Turner arrested David Hill, 21, of Wareham (above left), as the result of an outstanding warrant. Mr. Hill was arrested at his residence without incident. Later at about 7:00 am, Brian Townley, 31 of Onset (above right),was arrested by Officer Turner as the result of a motor vehicle stop. Mr. Townley was driving with a suspended license on Cranberry Highway.
