Later, at about 7:00 p.m., officers responded to Onset Avenue for a possible accident involving a pedestrian. Officer Charles Pillsbury spoke with a male, who said while driving on Onset Avenue a male slapped his car and he stopped. The individual said he gave $20.00 to the man that hit his car saying he felt sorry for him, and then called the police. Officers Pillsbury and Joseph Cardoza later located the male who allegedly slapped the car, now with a female, and began an investigation. The male being questioned began to scream obscenities at the officers, while throwing his arms in the air. Several people stopped to view the disturbance on the street. The female, Melissa Gaudette, 33, of East Wareham, was also placed under arrest after causing a disturbance and trying to get to the police car that Mr. Benitiz-Figueroa was placed in. Both Gaudette and Benitiz-Figueroa are charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. They were held overnight at police headquarters and were transported Wareham District Court on Friday morning.
