Wareham Police issue advisory about phone scam

WAREHAM – Wareham Police are issuing an advisory to residents about a higher number of calls received recently about a potential scam pertaining to your electric service.

Police said that if you receive a call about your bill, indicating it is past due and your service is in danger of being suspended or terminated, contact the company that supplies your power to your residence/business directly.

They said it’s important to not become a victim by speaking freely without verifying who is on the phone.
