At about 6:45 p.m. Officer Nate Aronson was running radar in the area of Cranberry Highway near Red Brook Road. He pulled a vehicle over for speeding and issued the operator a citation. After the citation was issued, the operator of the car stepped from her vehicle and became argumentative with Officer Aronson. She was advised several times to return to her vehicle, however she refused to co-operate and her belligerence escalated to the point she was threatened with arrest. After several warnings, she was placed under arrest. She resisted violently and both the female and Officer Aronson ended up on the ground, where she finally subdued with assistance of Officer Blaise Lalli. Unfortunately, there was a small child in the car that was cared for and brought to the police station by Special Officer Madison Burrell, until the Department of Children and Families arrived to assist. During the Illumination Night event officers were called to the parking lot of Onset Fire, for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver that had struck a vehicle, and now was attempting to flee the area. Special Officer Robert Feeney, who is also an Onset firefighter, observed the vehicle back into a parked car, owned by another Onset firefighter and then try to pull out of the lot. He yelled and waved for the vehicle to stop, however the operator refused to stop forcing Feeney to move out of the way. The vehicle then stopped, where Feeney had been standing, and the operator said he was a Boston Fire District Chief. Officers Nate Aronson and Michael Phinney now arrived on location. After investigation, Mark Buchanan, 60, of Plymouth, was placed under arrest and charged with, operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Wareham Fire officials asked if he needed assistance prior to police arrival, and the man said, no. It should be noted that this man had earlier been removed from the fire station, but returned. The man’s behavior was erratic pacing around the lobby, identifying himself as Tyler Swabby. Officers found an ID which had his proper name, and he said, “I lied because I may have a warrant in Virginia for hitting a cop.” Mr. Moustafa walked out of the fire station, but refused to leave the grounds, then pulling out a nip bottle and began drinking alcohol in front of the officers. He was now placed under arrest charged with, trespassing, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, providing a false Social Security number during the course of an arrest, interfering with the duties of a police officer, and being fugitive from justice. During the course of the investigation, it was determined there was a warrant for his arrest from Rhode Island. Mr. Moustafa is due in court on Tuesday morning.
