WAREHAM – As summer is in full swing the Wareham Police Department would like to remind everyone that our department takes a very proactive approach with regard to underage drinking. Our officers have seen firsthand the results of young people consuming alcohol, and therefore vigoursly enforce laws that are meant to protect people. Our efforts will include alcohol stings, which will target stores and restaurants that sell liquor to minors, with a zero tolerance policy. These businesses’ and any individual who procures alcohol to a minor will prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We further want to remind parents to properly secure any liquor you have in your home. The goal is that our kids enjoy a fun and safe summer, free of alcohol.
