Wellfleet Elementary School receives “Robo Bomb Threat”

WELLFLEET – The Wellfleet Police Department reports that at approximately 9:38 a.m. Monday the Wellfleet Elementary School reported receiving a “Robo Bomb Threat” at the school. The students, teachers and staff were evacuated from the building and members of the Wellfleet police and fire departments responded to the school.

Wellfleet public safety personnel conducted a search of the interior and the exterior of the building for any suspicious devices. Police report that nothing was located that was out of the ordinary or deemed to be dangerous. Police, fire and school personnel discussed the events and the results of the search and made the following decisions:

School administration would place an automated call to the parents advising them of the incident.

School would continue with normal operations but parents could pick up their children if they so desired. Police report that some chose that option but no numbers are available.

Police and fire personnel would remain at the school for the day.

No students, teachers or staff were harmed or in danger and this was one of several bomb threats made today throughout the commonwealth.
