Wellfleet Marketplace robbed by masked man with knife

– On Friday at approximately 7:11 PM, the Wellfleet Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Wellfleet Marketplace on Main Street in Wellfleet. It was reported that a male suspect all dressed in black with a knife had robbed the clerk of money. It was unknown if the individual was still at the store. Officers quickly arrived on scene and was able to speak with the clerk and check the store. The individual had left the area prior to the police arrival.

The clerk was in the process of closing up for the evening and wasn’t physically harmed in the robbery. Multiple requests for a K-9 were made to different agencies, however they weren’t available. Barnstable Sheriff’s Deputy from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) arrived on scene to process the crime scene.

At this time, we don’t have any video evidence or photos to release.

The suspect is described as a white male all dressed in black, pants, hoodie, back pack and had a black mask.
