WELLFLEET – From Wellfleet Police: Over the past weekend we saw the expected increase of police activities for the Wellfleet Police Department. Officers were kept busy with the different community activities and assisting other agencies.
We are happy to report no major incidents over the long weekend (Thursday through Monday), a partial summary of our activities:
We had 4 motor vehicle accidents without any serious injuries (some transported to the hospital for evaluations); 2 on Route 6, 1 drove off Ocean View Drive & 1 on Bank Street.
3 individuals were taken into protective custody for being too intoxicated (none needed medical attention).
1 warrant arrest – transported to the Barnstable House of Corrections
Criminal summons for operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operations of a motor vehicle, operating unlicensed.
91 motor vehicle stops by Wellfleet PD, over 100 if we added the out of town officers (we have an Outer Cape Traffic Enforcement Program, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro & Provincetown working collectively on traffic enforcement on the outer cape)
