WEST BARNSTABLE – The West Barnstable FD has been presented with two pieces of steel from the World Trade Center to create a 9/11 Memorial at the fire station. One piece of steel was authorized by the FDNY Fire Commissioner and presented to the WBFD by the FDNY Training Center, and the second piece was a gift from FDNY Firefighter “Jimmy Steel”, an FDNY marine diver. Phil Scozzarella, a retired FDNY Firefighter (Engine 73 – The Bronx) was instrumental in coordinating these gifts. Phil is the husband of Heather Scozzarella who the WBFD’s Administrator.
