Woman accused of stabbing man in head with scissors

hamiltonerphaYARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Thursday at 9:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Lyman Lane and Mercury Drive in South Yarmouth for a report of a male subject knocking on doors who was covered in blood and was requesting individuals to call the police for him.

Officers promptly arrived on location and were meet in the street by the victim who stated he was stabbed by his girlfriend in the head area several times with a pair of scissors. Police Officers recovered the scissors and assisted the bleeding victim who was subsequently transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department.

The suspect had fled the scene and Yarmouth Police Department K9 Handler Patrol Officer Mike Kramer and his partner Satu were called to the scene. Within a few minutes the team arrived and began an active search which successfully led to locating the suspect hiding in the parking lot of a local supermarket.

The suspect did not comply with verbal commands and ran off. She was subsequently captured by K9 Satu—obtained a bite wound—and taken in to custody. Erpha Hamilton, 44, of Yarmouth (right) was treated for her non- life threatening wound and held overnight at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (scissors). She was arraigned Friday in the Barnstable District Court.
