PROVINCETOWN – A woman was injured after reportedly falling and hitting her head on the West End Breakwater in Provincetown late Thursday afternoon. It was low tide at the time which made for a challenge to reach the victim who was almost at Long Point when she fell. Deputy Fire Chief James Roderick started out with EMTs in a 4X4 from Herring Cove to reach the scene by land. Meanwhile, Noah Santos and Malcolm Hunter from Flyer’s Boat Yard, who are also Provincetown firefighters, responded by boat to the scene. The Provincetown Harbormaster also responded but was unable to reach the scene because of the low tide. Firefighter Hunter was able to guide a pontoon boat in the shallow water to the scene. The EMTs also reached the scene and placed the victim in a stokes basket. The pontoon boat then made its way to the Coast Guard pier where an ambulance was waiting to transport the woman to Cape Cod Hospital.
