Yarmouth Anti-Crime unit chases down wanted man

Willam John Woods Jr.

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Wednesday at 5:20 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officer Sean Geary observed William Woods Jr. riding a bicycle on Forest Road in South Yarmouth.

Woods had two active warrants for his arrest and Officer Geary encountered him in the driveway of a home at 54 Forest Road. Instead of complying and submitting to his arrest, Woods rode off the sidewalk, into the street and began to pedal away. Officer Geary captured Woods in between the McDonald’s parking lot and AutoZone.

Fellow Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Nicholas Ambrosini—along with a concerned and helpful citizen—assisted in the arrest.

Woods outstanding warrants charged him with breaking and entering, probation violation for larceny over $250, and conspiracy.

Woods was transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and transported to the Barnstable District Court this morning.
