Yarmouth “Operation Safe Ride Home” activated for St. Patrick’s Day

YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department reports it will activate “Operation Safe Ride Home” on Thursday, March 17, 2016 starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 2:00 a.m.

Operation Safe Ride Home is fully funded by local Yarmouth area businesses and involves a free and safe ride home to anyone from any Yarmouth liquor establishment. Any citizen who needs ride home from a Yarmouth licensed liquor establishment should call Town Taxi directly at 508.775.5555.

Some of the Yarmouth businesses that have provided funds for this program for the past 5 years are:

  • Yarmouth Restaurant Association
  • Yarmouth Police Relief Association
  • Cape Cod Irish Village
  • Red Face Jack’s
  • Hallett Funeral Home
  • Davenport Realty
  • Jerome J. Manning Auctioneers
  • Town Taxi

Impaired driving is a very serious and dangerous crime. Additional Yarmouth Police Department patrol officers will be on duty targeting impaired drivers and any other motor vehicle violations.
