YARMOUTH – On Tuesday, August 4, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., the Yarmouth Police Department will be hosting its 5th Annual National Night Out Against Crime on the grounds of the town of Yarmouth Sandy Pond Recreational Area located on Buck Island Road in West Yarmouth.
The department will host a very special guest, Heather Abbott—a Boston Marathon bombing survivor who lost her left leg above the knee in the attack—and founder of the Heather Abbott Foundation, which is dedicated to helping victims of traumatic incidents obtain prosthetic devices.
YPD National Night Out will offer free food and snacks and a chance to see:
- Police K9 Unit Demonstration
- Police SWAT Team Demonstration
- Yarmouth Fire Department Fire Trucks and Ambulance
- Yarmouth Department of Natural Resources Rescue Boat
This Community Policing event is totally free and open to everyone.
