Yarmouth police arrest two women for B&E

YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department reports that on Thursday at 3:16 p.m. Yarmouth police officers responded to a citizen’s report of two women breaking in to a home on Cardinal Lane in West Yarmouth.

Upon arrival in the area, patrol officers and detectives located two women involved in the theft. They are Elizabeth L. Gay, 46, (photo at left above) and Cindy L. Maskell, 54, (right) both of South Yarmouth.

The two women are well known to Cape Cod law enforcement and both were placed under arrest; one of them after assaulting one of the arresting police officers. The wallet stolen from the home was recovered.

Both were transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and are scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court Friday. Gay is charged with B&E building daytime for felony and B&E in to boat/vehicle for misdemeanor larceny under $250. Maskell is charged with accessory before the fact and assault and battery on a police officer.
