Yarmouth Police arrest woman allegedly using heroin

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Friday at approximately 6:45 PM, the Proactive Anti-Crime Unit observed a white Dodge Avenger parked against the side of the convenience store closest to East Main Street at Bakers Square in West Yarmouth.

The person in the vehicle was caught in the act of using a hypodermic needle to shoot up heroin and was subsequently placed under arrest with support from the Patrol Force.

Three small bags of heroin were also found and seized.

The suspect, identified as Kelli A. Smith, 32, of South Dennis was charged with possession of a Class A substance (heroin) and was booked at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and eventually bailed by the Bail Commissioner on Personal Recognizance after paying the standard $40 fee.

Smith was scheduled to be in the Barnstable District Court on Tuesday.
