Yarmouth Police investigate 11th fatal heroin/fentanyl death of 2017

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police are investigating that town’s 11th fatal heroin/fentanyl overdose death this year.

On Monday at 5:47PM, Yarmouth Police Officers and Firefighters responded to a home found a 26-year-old adult unconscious.

Rescuers provided CPR and advanced life support including the use of Narcan, but despite all efforts, the victim was unable to be revived.

Yarmouth Police remind the public that if you or a friend needs help stopping stopping and overcoming opioid related addiction, call 800-327-5050 for the Substance Abuse Information and Education Helpline.

‘Learn to Cope’ opioid support group meetings for families dealing with addiction and recovery are held every Tuesday night at 7PM. Narcan training and supplies are available at to all no cost at the end of the meeting.
