Yarmouth Police PAC unit arrests subject wanted for attempted murder

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Monday, members of the Yarmouth Police Department Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) captured a man wanted for Attempted Murder and other violent crimes in Falmouth.

The arrest came at approximately 1:45 PM as the PAC Officers surrounded a home at 174 Setucket Road looking for Michael S. O’ Connor, 34, of Yarmouth Port.

O’Connor reportedly initially attempted to escape by going out a back but went back inside when he saw a Police Officer.

Officers made a forced entry in the home and found the O’Connor hiding in the basement.

O’Connor was placed under arrest on charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. He was transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court.
