YARMOUTH – During this past winter storm, the men and women of the Yarmouth Police Department Dispatch Center handled several hundred phone calls and logged 452 police service entries. Some of the 452 entries in the 48-hour period involved the following:
- 10 Motor Vehicle Crashes
- 10 Burglar Alarms
- 5 Domestic Violence Incidents
- 5 Disturbances
- 4 Intoxicated Persons
Despite the treacherous conditions throughout the storm, most people were very cooperative and our public safety team of police officers and dispatchers worked very well together and kept everyone protected.
The YPD commends their employees and also thanks the other members of town services such as the highway, fire, and natural resources departments for helping to keep Yarmouth safe.
