Yarmouth Police stop 31 vehicles in 4 hours


YARMOUTH
– Yarmouth Police report that in response to citizen complaints and operating on a specialized Motor Vehicle Enforcement grant, on Monday morning, officers conducted specialized enforcement patrols of crosswalks all across the town of Yarmouth and stopped 31 vehicles in approximately four hours for crosswalk related violations.

Please remember the crosswalk laws and always be extra careful when driving in the area of any crosswalk.
MGL Ch. 89 §11 Crosswalk Violation – $200

  • Blocking a crosswalk,
  • Pass a motor vehicle stopped at a crosswalk,
  • Failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk
