YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police are charging a local woman with drunken driving in connection with a three-car crash last week.
The accident happened on November 8 just before 2:30 p.m. on White’s Path Road near National Grid.
Police said multiple empty Smirnoff ‘nip’ sized alcohol bottles were found on the floor in the front passenger seat area of a car driven by Dakota Linnell, 21, of Bass River.
A brown bag containing more nips was also located in the same area of the suspect vehicle that had caused the crash. A total of 9 nips were recovered.
Two people were transported to Cape Cod Hospital by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department.
One of the injured was a woman who was pregnant and subsequently was flown via Med-Flight helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston suffering from hip and arm injuries, as well as an indented skull fracture.
Patrol Officer Diana Wells interviewed the driver of the vehicle who allegedly caused the three-car rear-end crash and determined she was intoxicated and impaired.
Since the driver was being treated for injuries, she was not arrested and has been summoned to court for the following charges.
