Yarmouth Police track down and arrest alleged “upskirter”

YARMOUTH – Since the original release regarding an alleged “upskirting” Suspect, Yarmouth Police have received numerous tips that assisted them in identifying the suspect. An intense investigation was conducted that led to locating the suspect at his home in New Bedford. The suspect was placed under arrest and is currently being held at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters on $9,840 Cash Bail. The suspect will be transported to the Barnstable District Court tomorrow morning for arraignment. The suspect is David A Wong, 49, of New Bedford.

Wong faces charged of Secret Video Recording/Electronic Surveillance of Sexual Intimate Parts, Secret Video Recording/Electronic Surveillance of Sexual Intimate Parts, and Secret Video Recording/Electronic Surveillance of Sexual Intimate Parts Victim under 18 Years of Age.

The Yarmouth Police Department commends the public for its outstanding support and Detective Eric Nuss, Dispatcher Maria Curtis, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Christopher Van Ness, Trooper Mike Turgeon of the MSP VFAS Team, New Bedford PD, and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s who worked diligently and tirelessly together in making this arrest.

Wong was arraigned this morning in the Barnstable District Court and is being held on $15,000.00 Cash Bail. His passport was also seized.
