YD CERT holds graduation ceremony


YARMOUTH
– From Yarmouth Police: The Yarmouth-Dennis Community Emergency Response Team (YD CERT) held a graduation ceremony for its latest class on February 11 at the Yarmouth Police Station. The class of 23 total included 8 members of the DY Teen Police Explorer group. The four-week program trained participants in basic response, first aid, and emergency preparedness skills.

The graduates were congratulated by State Representative Tim Whalen, Yarmouth Fire Chief Phil Simonian, Dennis Assistant Fire Chief John Donlan, and Dennis Police Lieutenant Peter Benson.

YD CERT has been delivering volunteer services to public and non-profit organizations in Yarmouth and Dennis for over 15 years in areas such as emergency sheltering, fire prevention, and special-event support for public and non-profit organizations. Sponsored by the police and fire departments of Yarmouth and Dennis, YD CERT is led by Coordinator Gaynor Foster, Deputy Coordinator Melissa Clayton, and DY School Resource Officer Nick Pasquarosa.
