YPD, New Bedford PD team to arrest armed robbery suspect

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Monday, Detectives Eric Nuss, Christopher VanNess, and Michael Wells joined forces with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Section, and the New Bedford Police Department Gang Unit to arrest a man wanted by the YPD for his role in a Home Invasion that occurred in Yarmouth on January 12, 2018.

Michael A. Stande– a convicted felon well known to Law Enforcement– was located at a home on Maxfield Street in New Bedford and taken into custody.

Stande is the husband of Kathleen P. Lyons who has already been arrested by the Yarmouth Police Department for her role in this violent crime.

Stande was transported to New Bedford Police Department Headquarters for booking on charges of armed robbery with a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.

Following NBPD’s booking, Stande was transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and held until arraignment in the Barnstable District Court Wednesday.
