YPD PACU arrests wanted man with illegal drugs

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Monday at 1:00 PM, Yarmouth Police Department Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officer Nick Ambrosini observed a white male in a hooded sweatshirt wearing a backpack walking around the parking lot of Bass River liquors acting suspiciously.

Officer Ambrosini encountered the male in front of nearby Stop & Shop on Long Pong Drive. When encountered, Officer Ambrosini observed the suspect throw a pill bottle on the ground.

The subject was identified  as 52-year-old Jerry P. White of Chatham. Officer Ambrosini was aware that White was a convicted felon with 122 prior charges in Massachusetts

A check of his status revealed a warrant for his arrest.

Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Mark Noone arrived and White was placed under arrest. He was charged with possesssion of a Class B substance (Suboxone)(subsequent offense), possession of a Class C substance (benzodiazpine)(subsequent offense), possession of a Class E substance (gabapentin)(subsequent offense) and warrant arrest.

Officer Ambrosini recovered the discarded pill bottle and found it had no label on it.

Inside the bottle were:

Suboxone package
Suboxone pill
Two gabapentin capsules
One benzodiazepine capsule

White was processed at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court for the Active Warrant and the new illegal drug charges.
