YPD PACU locates alleged armed and wanted burglar

Ethan P. Woodward

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Friday, April, 6, 2018, at 4 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officer Nick Ambrosini located a person in the parking lot of Cape Cod Hospital who was wanted for committing a burglary at a home in West Yarmouth.

Fellow Officer Sean Gannon and Ambrosini approached the suspect identified as Ethan P. Woodward, 27,  of Yarmouth who was still seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and placed him under arrest for the warrant for breaking and entering a building in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony, and larceny over $250.

Upon pat frisking Woodward for weapons, Officers located a pocket knife clipped to his front pants pocket. Further inspection of the knife showed it had a spring assisted blade approximately 4″ long. Due to the spring assisted blade, the knife is illegal to carry in Massachusetts as a switchblade.

During the booking inventory of Woodward, Officers located an 8MG Suboxone film strip in his wallet.

The knife and suboxone were tagged and placed into evidence.

Woodward was additionally charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class B substance (suboxone)(subsequent offense).

Woodward—who has 110 entries on his Massachusetts record—was scheduled for arraignment Monday in the Barnstable District Court.
