YPD seizes nearly 90 grams of heroin and cocaine and arrest alleged drug trafficker

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Monday at 10:40 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officers Sean Geary and Christopher VanNess observed a man in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth.

The man ran off and the Officers observed him drop a corner cut bag of tan powder on the ground.  He was quickly apprehended while Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Nicholas Officer Ambrosini and his drug detection K9 Gauge alerted on illegal drugs inside of the man’s vehicle.

Officers located further narcotics in the vehicle.  These narcotics were 56.5 grams of white powder cocaine and 32.4 grams of tan powder heroin.  These narcotics were bagged in a total of 7 different bags.

The suspect, identified as Gilver Jimenez, 29, of Hyannis was placed under arrest on charges of trafficking in heroin and trafficking on cocaine. He was transported to the Yarmouth Police Department headquarters, held overnight, and transported to the Barnstable District Court Tuesday morning for arraignment. He was held without bail for previous probation violations.
