Matthew Vincent Julian
YARMOUTH – From Yarmouth Police: Matthew Vincent Julian, 30, of Middleborough, MA, was tracked down and placed under arrest at 10:30 AM Monday morning by members of the Yarmouth Police Department Proactive Anti-Crime Unit during a motor vehicle stop of a black 2010 Chevrolet Equinox in which he was a passenger on Route 6A in Barnstable.
Julian–who was featured on YPD Wanted Wednesday on November 7 and was allegedly in the process of turning himself in to the Court–was transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters for booking and has been brought to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment and warrant processing.
The YPD thanks members of the public and media for helping in this arrest.
Update (corrected): Matthew V. Julian was HELD after his arraignment and bail hearing yesterday in the Barnstable District Court. He was found to be in violation of his probation and is being held in custody until next court date of December 21st.
Background: On Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:30PM, Julian attacked a pregnant woman known to him at a home on Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth. Yarmouth Police Officers responded and assisted the victim. The suspect had fled and could not be located. The Yarmouth Police Department obtained an Arrest Warrant and a Protective Order, contacted the Middleboro Police Department where Julian is well known, and continued to search for the suspect.
On Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 9PM, the Yarmouth Police Department tracked down and located the suspect hiding in a basement at a home on Webbers Path in West Yarmouth. The suspect was taken in to custody and held at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.
The Civilian Bail Commissioner set the bail at $540. The suspect paid the bail and was released promising to be in the Barnstable District Court for his arraignment on Monday morning.
The suspect did not show up for court and has since contacted the victim and violated the Protective Order.
