American Idol Finalist John Stevens to be Guest Vocalist at 30th Annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea

b2c6f434-30bb-427a-9f21-cd36f0142d80The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is thrilled to announce that American Idol finalist John Stevens will be singing with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra at the 30th Annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert on Sunday, August 9, 2015.

In 2004, at the age of 16, John placed sixth overall on the third season of the popular vocal competition television show American Idol. His mature crooning ability in the style of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin earned him millions of votes from viewers across America and spawned his nickname “Teen Martin.” After the show, John toured the United States with the other finalists, performing in 49 shows in 46 cities. He also appeared on several national television shows, including Ryan Seacrest Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Live with Regis and Kelly.

After finishing high school, John continued to follow his passion for music by graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2009 and appears in the Boston area with the Beantown Swing Orchestra.

The Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015, on the Hyannis Village Green. The annual concert features the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and this year will feature celebrity guest conductors Charlie Gibson, Connie Chung and Maury Povich.
