Cape Cod YMCA

Created in 1966, the Cape Cod YMCA offers a wealth of opportunities and activities for the Cape community, where individuals and families of all ages can improve their health and well-being through fitness and programs that encourage learning and confidence. Joining the Cape Cod YMCA offers great benefits, including group fitness programs, family benefits, child watch and special events.

Building Blocks

The Cape Cod YMCA strives to help individuals develop important skills for life. More and more people are taking advantage of the opportunities the Cape Cod YMCA provides, including programs and classes with excellent facilities that provide the best experience for the community.

Through positive reinforcement the Cape Cod YMCA supports children and young adults, encourages smarter life choices, and builds confidence. Confidence helps children test their abilities, get more involved with what they love and use their talents to their full potential.

Programs

There are many opportunities for people of all ages to get involved and be active at the Cape Cod YMCA.

Programs include options such as camp and educational and leadership programs. Child care and early learning programs are offered to help children grow and succeed in life.

Camp includes day, overnight and specialty camps where children can engage in numerous activities, meet new people, work independently and discover new things about themselves and the world around them. Children learn from role models and see good behavior in action. Camp encourages children to experience, learn and have fun in the process.

The Cape Cod YMCA wants kids to have a chance for a positive future and develop to reach their educational and personal goals. Leadership and educational programs help them become more active in their community.

Campers have the opportunity to become leaders and counselors for future programs and can eventually gain employment.

By shadowing group leaders, individuals working towards this goal see how the camp and activities are managed and performed. These programs offer engagement in more activities and teaching opportunities. Individuals who become counselors pass on what they learn at camp to new and younger campers.

Facilities

At the West Barnstable Facility, families use a wide range of facilities for children, adults and seniors. The Cape Cod YMCA has an adult locker room to house clothing and gear room and lockers for children under 14.

There is a 25 yard collegiate size pool, with family, lap and recreational swimming available.

Getting fit is easy and fun at the Cape Cod YMCA with group fitness options such as Yoga, Pilates and other programs. The Cycling Studio is a great place to burn calories, and you can meet new people, stay fit and have a good time at classes.

The Wellness Center’s knowledgeable staff assists individuals with health and wellness objectives. There are top of the line strength and cardio equipment to help you stay healthy.

While working out, the kids can hangout out in the Children Watch Center where there are toys, climbing areas and other child appropriate facilities.
