A Mini Reunion… of Sorts!

KarenBlakeMy college roommate and her husband recently bought a house in Chatham… so she decided to invite some of her former Endicott College buddies for a mini reunion.  We reminisced and had a lot of laughs.

We were talking about former boyfriends and how one time when my college sweetheart drove to see me in the winter in the middle of a blizzard he got stuck in a ditch and people had to help lift his car of the snow.

We had a running joke that every morning we would check in with our group of girls to see who might want to go out to a club that night. We would all say “oh no…we need to stay in and study tonight” then around 8:00 at night we would all say to each other…”be ready by 10”! We knew the balance between studying and partying?!

Some of the best years of my life were spent at Endicott. I loved it there because it was close enough for my friends and family to visit… but not so close that they would drop in on me every two minutes. That was important at the time because I wanted a little bit of independence.

The Endicott campus was beautiful.  I lived right on the water! Plus, I was taking all the classes I loved…radio, TV and Advertising.  My original goal was to be a TV newscaster… but after experiencing all the other facets of the industry, I ended up loving Radio. I could really let loose with my outgoing personality. Also, the reason why I leaned more toward radio was also because my professor told me I had so much personality and my face was so expressive no one would be listening to what I had to say on TV!

I hope after all my years on the radio people do like listening to some of what I have to say. At least once in a while 🙂
