DIY Frozen Pants

Step 1

1. Start with heavy weight pants like jeans or workpants –corduroy works well, too… Light weight pants, capris and shorts won’t work well (I will trust the experts on weight and texture suggestions). Run your chosen pants through the wash and pull them outside just after the spin cycle. This way they will be wet through and through, but not too wet.

As the cold weather from the latest POLAR VORTEX creeps across the country, I am seeing one of my favorite trends creep across social media: FROZEN PANTS! I am not making this up! I saw it on the internet, so it has to be true! People are freezing their pants and posing the torso-less hollow legs in front yards and in front of businesses and schools! It’s like the Headless Horseman got carried away and took more than a head from hapless victims! It is both unnerving and hilarious at the same time –which of course meant I was going to give it a try!

I did a little research and reached out to a few of my friends in the frozen states of Minnesota and Wisconsin to get a few pointers before soaking my jeans and hanging my laundry in the front yard. Here is my simple, family friendly step-by-step guide to making your own Frozen Pants display.
