Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

If you have read my past blogs then you know what a tough time I have had in the past year with the loss of my beloved mommy and my dear husband.FullSizeRender

I am just now starting to get out with my friends again trying to have some fun! Well, this past weekend I did get out…I saw friends, colleagues and co-workers.

It was off Cape in Waltham at the Birthday Party of a very special woman….Yolanda Cellucci.  You may know her…she is a fashion icon. Her well known boutique in Waltham was frequented by many national celebrities, local celebrities and brides from all over the country and the world.

She built her empire over 41 years…and was dubbed the “Sultan of Sequins.”  The end if an era came in 2009 when she closed the doors of Yolanda’s bridal salon. I know there were many heartbroken women that day!

When I began my radio career I was often asked to emcee various concerts and high profile events and I would always go to Yolanda’s to get the perfect “stage” dress to make a statement!  Her dresses always made me feel and look like a million dollars! If I play my cards right…maybe someday I’ll fit into them again! Fingers crossed! Haha!

When I was told Yolanda was celebrating her 80th birthday this past weekend with a big soiree to benefit her favorite charities I knew I had to be there.

My dearest friend…Lenny Clarke emceed the event. There was a “live” auction hosted by Susan Wornick, fabulous food and wonderful entertainment.  I saw so many dear friends. I have to say…it was great to be out and to be smiling!
