Habits of the Happiest People

KarenBlakeBlogImageI recently read an article “11 habits of the happiest people.”

I have to say…I do think there is some validity to the points they made. I thought I would share some of them with you.

Be deliberately optimistic. They say being optimistic is imperative to emotional wellness and quality of life. I can see that being true and trying to see the best in every situation.
Keep resources on hand to create an instant uplift. Happy people are highly aware of the specific things that lift them up and they naturally and frequently use them when they need a physical and/or an emotional boost.

Create a list of a few easy things that never fail to give you an instant mood or energy lift. For me I would have to say its playing music that takes me to my “happy Place” and also going to be beach. Just parking my car and sitting in front of the water and thinking gives me peace and makes me happy.

Practice loving kindness. It sounds simple but consistently practicing loving-kindness is not as easy as it sounds. A lot of people make an effort to be kind but the pressures and distractions of daily life can sometimes take energy from that focus. The happiest and most successful people…are in the habit of allowing kindness to be one of the driving forces behind much of what they do in the world. Few things amp up happiness like the feeling of doing something kind for another being, human or animal.

I try to practice kindness whenever possible but I would like to do it more. I will say that when I do practice kindness it is very uplifting. I like to do charity work for local organizations it’s my way if giving back and that makes me feel happy. I want to do more.
