I’d been thinking about cutting my hair for a couple months now. I wrote a blog about it here, when I was still on the fence about it and was actually leaning towards not cutting it. Then, I decided a couple of weeks ago, it needed to happen.
My hair was very long which is how I like it, but it was so dead at the bottom that it didn’t look good anymore. Plus, it got caught in everything, which was extremely annoying. I went online and started searching “medium length haircuts” on Pinterest, so I could get an idea of what I’d look like with shorter hair. I found a great cut on Emma Stone (who I love!) so I saved that pic and sent it to my hairdresser. She thought the cut would look great on me, so that was it, I was ready! I booked my appointment for this past Saturday.
I got to the salon and I was excited. Actually now I couldn’t wait to cut off all the split ends I had acquired over the years from never cutting my hair. My hairdresser Jen started by cutting off 6 inches, eek! She showed me what it looked like, but no, I thought it was still too long, I wanted it shorter. So, she cut another three and I reached back with my hand and told her I felt comfortable with that length, but no shorter, so we stopped. She was blowdrying my hair and I was facing away from the mirror, I asked if I could see it, so she turned my chair around…oh boy! It was a tiny bit shorter than I was expecting, but I was happy to have a different look and excited at the idea of it not getting stepped on, pulled, and caught on everything anymore! It’s still long enough to put in a ponytail or a braid, and it’s much easier to manage now!
So…I did it! I finally cut my hair!
