I Just Can’t Decide on a Color

KarenBlakeBlogImageI have been on a painting kick lately. I decided I wanted to paint an accent wall in my master bath. So I did…and I loved the color. The thing is after I painted the accent wall I didn’t love the other wall color in the bathroom because it looked too yellow next to the taupe-grey accent wall color. So I needed to find a new wall I color.

I got swatches from the paint store and I even got little samples of the colors so I could test them on the wall. Well, I didn’t love any one of them…so now I have to go back and start from scratch and find new color but in the meantime I am looking at a room full of streaks.

It seems like every color I had picked turned yellow and I didn’t want a yellow undertone. So the next time I went to the paint store the lady asked me what kind of bulbs I was using and I told her…she said that the regular “soft white” bulbs do give a yellow hue especially in a small space. So I bought the “Reveal” bulbs (they’re bluish) well bingo the yellow hue went away!

Now I can go back to just about any other neutral room color I want.
