I’m a “Girl Scout Cookie Mom”

I’m a “Girl Scout Cookie Mom” and anyone familiar with Girl Scouts knows the importance of COOKIE SELLING SEASON!

While I try to keep a low profile, and not be THAT parent who feels they need to sell cookies for their Scout, I do let people know that I have cookies available. At all times. You never know when you are going to run into someone at the bank while you are getting change to open a cookie booth who will ask for a box. Or while putting groceries in the trunk and someone walks by and notices your cookie stash and stops. Sometimes that feels a little shady, selling out of the trunk, but when people want cookies you supply them ASAP!

Girl Scout cookies not only taste delicious, they provide my girls important opportunities to learn things like: goal setting, financial literacy, and social skills of asking for a sale and how to handle rejection. THEY walk around the neighborhood selling door-to-door. THEY man the cookie booths at grocery stores/coffeeshops/sporting events. THEY handle the money exchange and cookie sales.

Okay – I digress, just love the experience the Girl Scout organization offers – I’m officially putting you on notice – COOKIE SELLING SEASON IS ALMOST OVER! It’s okay to be relieved. (Mom’s note: My Girl Scouts don’t care if you say no, they know not everyone will buy cookies, but please don’t feel the need to walk out of your way to avoid them, it’s weird).

Hit us up if you’d like cookies! The troop has more cookie booths scheduled and this year the Girl Scouts can ship cookies. Don’t forget It’s a great learning opportunity, plus, they are always happy to fuel your Thin Mint addiction.  Plus, how can you say NO to these cute faces?

Clara (Daisy), Brynn (my niece) and Aubrey (both Juniors) hard at work selling cookies.
