It’s my new Urban Decay ‘Sheer Anarchy’ lipstick! I found it at Sephora the other day when I was cashing in on a gift card that I received for my birthday recently. I love makeup, it’s one of my favorite things. It’s what I spend my extra money on, that and purses.
So I walked into Sephora with the goal of finding a new mascara. An overwhelming feeling of anxiety and pure bliss always washes over me every time I walk into Sephora. I love shopping there so much, it’s heaven on earth for a makeup lover. It can get overwhelming because they have so many things I want and I know I cannot buy them all, hence the anxiety.
I found the mascara I wanted and while making the rounds through the store, I passed by the clearance section. Most of the time, there is nothing I want on clearance in Sephora. I’m very particular of what brands I buy (I only support brands that don’t test on animals), so I assumed I wouldn’t find anything there, but decided to look anyway. I was wrong! All of a sudden, it jumped out at me! The lone tube of Urban Decay lipstick on clearance. My first thought was ‘this is going to be a hideous color, that’s why it’s on clearance.’ Wrong again! It was the perfect shade of hot pink. You’d have thought I found $100 bill on the floor! I grabbed that lipstick before anyone else could come over and try to snatch it up, and clutched it in my hand tightly. Once safely in my possession, I opened up my hand to reveal the clearance price on the lipstick packaging, it said $11.00. As a makeup connoisseur of sorts, I know this particular brand sells for $22, so this pearl in a sea of oysters, was a great find!
I made my way to the checkout counter, bought my mascara, hot pink clearance lipstick and even claimed my ‘birthday gift’ for being a ‘Sephora Beauty Insider’. When I left the store, I met up with my dad who I had been shopping with and told him about the lipstick, and what a great deal I got. I knew he didn’t really care, but he humored me and listened anyway. I brought up the lipstick at least 3 more times that afternoon, I was so excited about it! My dad commented, ‘wow, that lipstick really made you happy, didn’t it?’ I said ‘it did! It made my day actually!’ Sometimes all it takes is a pretty shade of lipstick, priced just right, to turn a good day into a great day!
