Well, we know that Thanksgiving is this Thursday and half of me is looking forward to it and the other half has mixed feelings. Why am I having mixed feelings? Because over the past several years my family has changed so much I don’t recognize it anymore. So many family members are gone…my father, my mother, my husband and my close aunt. It’s hard to come to grips with all the losses. I think this is what people say is the “new normal” OK, so this is my “new normal”…changing where I go for Thanksgiving dinner.
So, now I will be spending my Thanksgiving with my wonderful boyfriend, my sisters and some other family members. Even though my life has changed I am going to embrace my “new normal” and be thankful that I will be spending the holidays with some loving people.
