A lot of people think because I am on the radio I live some sort of a wild life. So, I thought I would jot down what I do on a typical say “Thursday”.
Here is what that “Thursday” looks like:
3:45 am – wake-up (immediately put the coffee on)
3:50 am – hop in the shower
4 am – run and pour the coffee (I so look forward to a great cup of coffee)
4:05 am – get dressed (and mind you I have all my clean clothes on a hook and I “grab and go”
4:10 am – makeup and hair (that lasts for 20-25 minutes) it’s not easy being me.
approx. 4:45 am head off to work…
When I get to work, I do some prep for my show. The night before I watch every news and entertainment related show so I can to be ready for the next day of topics.
6:10 – 10:00 am – go on the air at 99.9 The Q with my friend Ralphie.
After the show, I may grab something quick to eat and decompress for 10 minutes. Then I get down to business again. I write blogs, edit interviews, edit “bits” for the next day, voice a commercial, line-up a guest to be on with us, write emails etc… I also do some prep for my afternoon show on “Ocean 104.7”.
The time I leave the station varies everyday, but I am on “Ocean” our sister station every afternoon from 3 to 7 pm.
On a typical day, when I get home, I make a snack to take with me for the next day. Eat dinner. Talk to friends. Go on my treadmill. Watch a little TV and then hit the hay and then do it all over again the next day.
On THIS particular Thursday Night, though I am going to host the “Ladies Night” at The Resort and Conference Center. I love being part of events like this because I love meeting new people and in this case, 600 wonderful women! On this day, I was up at 3:45 am and home at 10 pm!
Fast Forward to Friday, pretty much the same as Thursday but the evening will be spent having dinner with friends around 7:30 pm. By 9:30 pm, I am totally exhausted from a busy week and rising before the rest of the world.
I have to say though I really love it doing it all. I so enjoy being on the radio and I love the radio group I’m a part of here at Cape Cod Broadcasting Media!
