That Girl’s Blog: Country Songs On St. Patrick’s Day? Why Not?

As we head into Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, many people are plotting out there celebrations with corned beef and cabbage and a pint of green beer. The only thing missing is a setlist of Irish drinking songs! Here on the Cape there is no shortage of traditional Irish singers … or is there?

Over the past week I saw more than one social media post from businesses looking for musicians to fit the bill over the Saint Patrick’s holiday. Beneath one of the posts, I saw someone respond with “I can sing country songs about beer! It’s kind of the same thing, right?”

This got me to thinking: Could you turn a country song into an Irish drinking song? I posed this question to the experts on Social Media and the overwhelming answer was “YES”!

And here is the Top 10 List:

Toby Keith, “I Love This Bar”

Willie Nelson, “Whiskey River”

Toby Keith, “Red Solo Cup”

Brooks & Dunn, “Beer Thirty”

Little Big Town, “Day Drinking”

Justin Moore, “You Look Like I Need A Drink”

Brad Paisley, “Alcohol”

Eric Church, “Beer In My Hand”

Luke Bryan, “All My Friends Say”

Garth Brooks, “Friends In Low Places”
