What I think of Arie “The Bachelor”

Well, as you can imagine when you’re in the radio business or media in general you must watch and listen to a lot of news! Which I do! However, sometimes I just need an escape… that’s why I watch shows that you may never tune into…like The Bachelor! Now even though I watch it…it doesn’t mean I go along with the premise. Arie was this seasons Bachelor and on the show he chooses between 29 single women. I actually swore I wouldn’t watch it this season…but I got sucked into it probably 5 episodes in and have been watching the rest of the season ever since.

First of all my personality doesn’t coincide with the gist of this show. I could never go out with a guy that is dating one other woman, never mind several women let alone 29 women! OY! It would make me feel slimy and cheap. Now fast forward to the finale of “The Bachelor” Arie whittled the 29 girls down to the final 2. He originally proposed to one of them “Becca” and he let the other girl “Lauren” twist in the wind. So he got a free engagement ring from Neil Lane! Now let me just say if my fiancée got me a FREE engagement ring I wouldn’t want it. I would rather have a ring that he worked to pay for…I feel like it would mean more to both of us.

OK now back to the show…so he ends up getting engaged to “Becca” they’re together for a few weeks and this jamoke then decides he wants to be with the girl he booted…“Lauren” so he breaks it off with “Becca” and in my opinion had no emotion. I don’t think he cared if he really hurt her. So, right after he broke it off with Becca he went over to Lauren’s house…tells her the story “that he made mistake and would she take him back” I was hoping that she would say “no…I am a priority and not an afterthought”…but she didn’t! In fact, she couldn’t say “yes” fast enough! Ugh! I wanted her to tell him off. He was scattered and hurt two women.

So now Lauren and Arie are officially engaged! She’s packing up her life and moving with him to Arizona! Why does it seem the women are always the ones to pack up their lives and move far away! Let the guy do it!

Well…I guess Becca has come to terms with the breakup and now she is on to being the next Bachelorette.

This show is crazy! I want to say that I won’t watch the next season BUT I know that I probably will…because for a mere 2 hours every week I can get lost in someone else’s drama!
