For the 13th year in a row, the Provincetown Lobster Pot Tree will bring a happy holiday glow to the Outer Cape. Started in 2004 by Julian Popko as a tribute to the hard-working lobstermen of Provincetown, the two-story Tree has become a celebrated seaside tradition.

Created by the Popko family and friends using over 112 lobster pots, dozens of bows, buoys, plastic lobsters and thousands of LED lights, the festive Tree is a bright and colorful addition to the heart of Provincetown, in Lopes Square. The lobster pots are real working traps on loan from local lobstermen.

The official lighting of the Tree is on Thanksgiving weekend, on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 5:30pm, and all are welcome to attend and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Lopes Square is located at 308 Commercial Street in Provincetown. If you’re not in town, you can watch the Popko family build the tree November 23-24 on your computer by visiting www.provincetownview.com
The Tree will be on display until February 2018.
